Mountain View Neighborhood Plan

The Mountain View Neighborhood Plan – Springboard for Action is intended to incorporate the last ten years' worth of planning to serve as a springboard for community action in 2009 and beyond.

SCHEDULE

2009

May 18 (6:30-8:30pm)
Focus Group Meeting, ACLT Offices
Residents and busines owners met to report on the neighborhood celebration event this summer, talk about next steps for assembling a neighborhood plan that can be adopted by the Municipality, and neighborhood image-building. Laura Norton Cruz and Mike Gutierrez introduced the focus group to the Mountain View Community Justice and Family Service Center program that is getting started.

The focus group also discussed a possible neighborhood-to-neighborhood meeting/teleconference with a citizen planning organization in Minneapolis that has been doing similar revitalization and community activities in a neighborhood that has a lot in common with Mountain View. The MV focus group is interested in talking with them about their experiences, particularly: mechanisms to get redevelopment going, housing strategies, their marketing approach, how they did/do community outreach and mentoring. Other ideas? Please email Heather (heather@agnewbeck.com).

May 15 (12-1:30pm)
Summer Celebration Committee Meeting, ACLT Offices
At our next meeting, we will discuss the timeline for each task identified in the last meeting, incorporate additional information, make changes and possibly filter more tasks out to others.
